Make it Math

Help your toddler learn math with these fun hands-on activities.

Use recycled cardboard from cereal, cracker or shipping boxes, crayons and playdough to give meaning to math. Teach your child to make playdough “worms.”

Then get busy making shapes, picking apples or putting petals on a flower. Talk about the shapes and colors. Count out loud as you decorate the cookies.

The important thing is to play and have fun. The more you play with math, the sooner your child will be doing the counting.

These activities help your child recognize and name numerals, shapes, colors and patterns
