Administrator Requirements
Registers as a member of an Arkansas professional development system.
- Membership encourages participation in training to improve management and leadership skills and knowledge of child/youth development and early education.
Accrues at least 45 hours of previous training in child/youth development and administration including the topics listed below:
- Measuring the quality of the program’s administrative procedures.
- Measuring quality of the program’s environment and activities.
- Planning appropriate physical activities to support the child/youth’s healthy development.
Staff Requirements
Registers as a member of an Arkansas professional development system.
- Membership encourages participation in training to improve knowledge of child/youth development and early education.
Follows an appropriate daily schedule that meets the needs of the children/youth in the group.
- Children/youth are happier and feel more secure when they have a predictable routine.
Follows written plans for the day’s activities.
- Written plans help teachers support learning more effectively.
Accrues at least 15 clock hours of training in child/youth development and education.
- The goal of training is to enhance the knowledge and skills of those who work with your child/youth.
Facility Requirements
Completes a self-evaluation of the program’s environment and activities.
Informs parents of uninsured children/youth about ARKids First.
- ARKids First provides insurance to qualified children/youth.
Shares with families information about child/youth development and health.
- Families and staff work together to support the child/youth’s development and to promote healthy lifestyles.
Obtains and implements a medical and/or educational plan for any child/youth having special needs.
- Medical and/or educational plans are individualized to meet the specific health or educational needs of a child/youth. These plans are coordinated with a health care provider, therapist and/or education specialist.
